Bandung Institute of Technology

Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is Indonesia’s first technological university, established on March 2, 1959, in West Java Province. Its mission is to harness science and technology to serve national development. Born out of a spirit rooted in the struggle for independence, ITB is committed to advancing the nation’s progress. On July 3, 2020, ITB celebrated its centennial anniversary. To date, the university has produced 120,000 alumni who play significant roles in the country’s development. ITB currently comprises 12 faculties, 128 study programs, 111 research groups, 25 centers, 7 research institutes, and 7 centers of excellence. The university enrolls over 26,000 students, supported by 1,510 academic staff and 195 professors. ITB now operates two main campuses—the Ganesa Campus and the Jatinangor Campus—and has become Indonesia’s flagship national university as well as a leader in research, technology, and the humanities.
