13-15 November 2017, UNESCO-ICHEI and the Center for Higher Education Research (CHER) of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), China, arranged an expert delegation to Ain Shams University (ASU). It is the first academic exchange activity after UNESCO-ICHEI and SUSTech started to implement "One Belt One Road Educational Collaboration Programme" with the universities along the Maritime Silk Road. The members of the First Delegation were: Professor CHEN Yuehong, Director of the Humanities Center, SUSTech, Professor RONG Yiming, Department Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, SUSTech, and Dr. MA Jinyuan, Chief of the Research Office of UNESCO-ICHEI.After a meeting with Professor Mona Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun (Languages), and directors of the Chinese Department of ASU, Prof. CHEN delivered a lecture on "The Narrative Features of Chinese Classical Novels and Chinese People's Outlook on Life" at the Chinese Department of ASU. The lecture was warmly welcomed by the students and faculty members. Professor Mona Hassan and four directors of the Chinese Department of ASU attended the lecture.

After the lecture of Prof. Chen, the Delegation met with Prof. Abdel Nasser B. Singab, Vice President of ASU for Graduate Studies, Research and International Cooperation. The discussion about academic exchange, International student scholarship programme, Weidong Wisdom Classroom Programme and 2018 Training Workshops further substantiated the cooperation between UNESCO-ICHEI, SUSTech and ASU.
